Susan Sabin was born and raised in Henry County. Many of Susan’s relatives attended Spencer-Penn School throughout the years, and she has many memories of being on the campus. She is a graduate of Ferrum College. She lives in Horsepasture with her husband and daughters, just a few minutes from the Centre. She has been with Spencer-Penn since 2017 and began as the Assistant Executive Director.
Bonnie freeman
Bookkeeper
Bonnie Freeman is a former student of Spencer-Penn School, and both of her sons also attended SPC. She now lives in Patrick Springs with her puppy. She has been with Spencer-Penn since 2008 and is now working part-time, giving her plenty of time to relax and enjoy some hobbies and her new pup, Tank! While Bonnie used to handle all the office duties, she now focuses on bookkeeping and working on special projects. On Music Night, you’ll see her serving up desserts or on the dance floor. It’s safe to say this place wouldn’t be the same without her, which is why she is only “semi-retired.”
Linda Foley
Librarian

Linda serves as both the librarian and in her unofficial role as hospitality leader. You may find her helping out with a rental, tidying up the building, or assisting in many other ways. She loves spending time with her family and attending church and is a natural helper. If you have a need at Spencer-Penn, she is sure to go out of her way to assist you.
matt duffy
President
Matt is a former student of Spencer-Penn and currently works for the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. He is currently in his first term on the Spencer-Penn board.
Michael Bradshaw
Vice-President
Michael is a former student of Spencer-Penn and the owner of Triangle Electric Company. He and his wife and daughter live in Ridgeway, VA. He is currently in his first term on the Spencer-Penn board.
marla perry
Secretary
Marla has been an active member of Spencer-Penn with her family for many years. She currently works as a school counselor at Patrick County High School. She is in her first term with the board.

Tiffanie and her husband Brian live in Martinsville, where she works for the Treasurer’s Office. She is in her first term with the Spencer-Penn board

Winford “W.C.” Fowlkes
Director
W.C. lives in Martinsville and is a former student at Spencer-Penn. He is retired from the U.S. Army and has a background in banking. W.C. is very active within the community. He is currently on his second term with the board of Spencer-Penn.
